We are passionate about excellent quality care in the treatment and recovery of adults and adolescents with psychiatric and/or chemical dependency illnesses. With a growing demand for our services, we are currently seeking FT Nurse Extenders for 1st and 2nd shifts. Responsibilities include the following:
  • Provide administrative and clinical responsibility for functioning of nursing services for the facility.
  • Provide leadership and role modeling for assigned staff.
  • Supervises direct patient care, nursing management, assessments and crisis management.
  • Ensures environmental safety for the patient population.
  • Will assist with training and education of staff, patients and families as needed.
  • Assist the House Supervisor in reviewing referrals for admission, completing admission assessments in Respond and other assigned duties that facilitate the proper operation of the facility.

Requirements

Education/Training:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Experience:
• One year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults, adolescents and/or children preferred.
• One year of progressive experience in management and/or supervision.

Licensure/Certification:
• Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License
• Current North Carolina Driver’s License
• Current CPR Certification
• CPI Certification

Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
• Knowledge of milieu management.
• Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
• Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
• Ability to safely implement treatment procedures.
• Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation

Hiring salary range: $23.17 - $27.14
