Nurse Manager of Northeast & Evenings is responsible for supervising and monitoring nurses and support staff, coordinating patient care with team members, and providing optimal case management. Ensures provision of safe, high quality patient care. Ensures that team's productivity meets standards and guidelines outlined by the Agency. Ensures quality, timeliness, and appropriateness of care given, which may include making periodic visits with field staff or performing home visits if needed due to volume. Monitors documentation to assure appropriate, timely compliance with payor regulations by facilitating communication between disciplines, verifying that paper or computer records are on file or submitted when needed, and coordinating proficiency of support team. Acts as a resource, role model, and motivator to develop and maintain a stable, satisfied enthusiastic team of nurses. Ensures that team turnover (of full time staff) is stable, and members work together efficiently. Supervises employees appropriately with timely and consistent coaching, feedback and reviews. Supervises, trains, develops, evaluates, and, when necessary, counsels or discharges designated staff. Evaluates the effectiveness of existing services and identifies areas for updating expertise or developing programs. Ensures that staffing of nurses and support staff is appropriate to the caseload.

Graduation from an educational program for nursing, preferably with a BSN degree. Must have an active Colorado RN license or a license from the state of primary residence, if participating in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Current CPR required. Five years medical/surgical nursing in an acute care and/or home health setting required. Preference is given to candidates with previous home care experience. Internal candidates may have two years nursing experience which preferably includes home care or a closely related service. Two years supervisory experience required for external candidates. Internal candidates (may include long term contract employees) with agency experience may be considered without previous supervisory experience. Can read and interpret physicians’ orders, notes from caregivers, and entries on computer screen as well as respond to them, verbally and in writing. Able to calculate drug dosages, mix insulin, and measure intake/output when conducting home visits. Able to analyze financial trends and budgetary information, making recommendations to improve financial performance. Able to interview, select and supervise staff, interacting with them on a regular and daily basis in a manner consistent with Agency goals.
