One year of permanent, competitive service as a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry) OR eligible for 70.1 transfer OR NYS Registered Professional Nurse License and NYS Education Department Certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in a Psychiatry Specialty and reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for the title.

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description As a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry), you would provide primary health care working in collaboration with a licensed physician or physicians. Duties would include, but not be limited to:

assessing the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests;

diagnosing illnesses and physical conditions and performing therapeutic and corrective measures.

The above duties are performed in accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols for the psychiatry specialty and agreed upon in advance by you and the physician of record.

Salary includes full-time annual salary and increased hiring salary. Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment.
