The ARNP assumes primary responsibility, in association with the attending MD, for the outpatient and inpatient management of an identified group of patients and participates in their clinical care as a member of an interdisciplinary team. The ARNP helps direct and develop new ways of management and treatment for such patients in collaboration with other team members. Supports and upholds the mission, vision, values, and guiding behaviors, patient bill of rights, and the Code of Business and Ethics Conduct.
        Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
        • Must be able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families and co-workers.
        • Requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
        • Requires the ability to problem solve to formulate a plan of care and evaluate the patient's response to care, the ability to interpret, adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.

        Minimum Job Requirements: Board certification in specialty area (Pediatric or Family). CPR: Healthcare Provider Current BLS-CPR card. Current license as ARNP in Florida. Graduation from an approved Master of Science in Nursing Nurse Practitioner Program. Satisfies the requirements of the Florida Department of Professional Regulation Board of Nursing (Chapter 21 O-11).

        Additional Job Duties

        • Acts as a preceptor for student nurse practitioners.
        • Additional duties as assigned.
        • Cooperates with the data managers in the operation of ongoing protocols.
        • Coordinates the care of patients in research protocols through the enrollment, follow-up and documentation of protocol requirements.
        • Participates in annually mandated MCH/Department education/training initiatives.
        • Stays abreast of an follows job pertinent MCH and department policies and procedures.
        • Stays abreast of current advanced nursing scope of practice issues.
