Under the supervision and direction of the supervising physicians, the Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care to (primarily) established patients of the practice. Care involves initial and subsequent histories and physical exams for both acute and routine office visits; appropriate documentation of all patient evaluations; involvement with initial triage and resolution of patient office calls; provision of emergency care to patients presenting to the office and/or in need of urgent attention throughout the clinic. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the physicians in providing care to the patients in accordance with standards outlined by Indiana law 848 IAC 4-2-1. He or she will function within the legal boundaries of their advanced practice area and shall have and utilize knowledge of the statutes and rules governing state and federal drug laws and regulations, state and federal confidentiality laws and regulations, and state and federal medical records access laws.
Must meets Indiana State Board of Nursing requirements for Nurse Practitioner licensure, have Medicare provider number, current Indiana licensure (RN + Nurse Practitioner), current DEA number, and current CSR number.
