Under the supervision of the attending physician, works collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Provides care for patients both in the outpatient clinic and the inpatient setting and addresses both acute and chronic issues in managing disease and treatment-related complications. Collects, documents and analyzes patient data; collaborates in the development and implementation of treatment plans; coordinates patient care with ancillary clinical services; makes appropriate referrals to consulting medical staff; provides follow up to referring physicians; may orient or precept students and new staff. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the institution. (KD)
Master’s degree in clinical nursing required.
Pediatric or oncology experience preferred.
Must possess a current Advanced Practice Nurse License issued by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing.
Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a non-Compact Nurse Licensure state.
Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Compact Nurse Licensure state.
Supervising Physician: verified by St. Jude Managed Care Department Nurse Practitioner Certification: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) within 6 months of employment.
Certificate of Fitness: State of Tennessee - Division of Health Related Boards within 6 months of employment.
DEA certification: U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration within 6 months of employment.
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
Experience providing care to patients with hematologic/oncologic diseases preferred.
Licensed by the State of TN Board of Medical Examiners to practice as a Physician Assistant
Certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
