Mentor, OH - Part-time 1st/2nd shift, RN or LPN

Kemper House is an assisted living facility designed specifically to care for persons living with memory impairment due to Alzheimer’s and/or dementia. Because we care for all stages of memory impairment, it is essential that our Nurses be able to customize care to the individual needs of the resident. This can include, but is not limited to, everything from engaging residents in social activities to ensuring comfort throughout end of life care. The Nurse is also expected to conduct quality of care inspections, administer medications, maintain medical records, accurately complete required nursing documentation in accordance with state regulations, and assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
Our most successful Nurses are individuals who:
*Are passionate about acting as advocates for our residents and enforcing resident rights
*Effectively communicate resident needs and status updates with members of the Kemper team, resident family members, and ancillary staff as appropriate
*Are highly organized while coordinating resident care with a variety of outside service providers, such as doctor appointments, pharmacy orders, physical therapy, etc.
*Possess keen observation skills, noting and addressing issues such as unusual changes in a resident’s physical or mental behavior
*Are comfortable with addressing nursing team performance issues in a fair and professional manner, as well as making an extra effort to recognize and reward team members to foster motivation and engagement
*Successfully navigate confrontational interactions among staff/residents/family members via appropriate conflict resolution and problem solving techniques

Physical requirements: Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds, bending or kneeling for up to 15 consecutive minutes, working 3-3.75 hours standing, walking and moving about without the need to sit down, and working with cleaning chemicals.

If you leave employment at Kemper House for any reason prior to the end of the introductory period, the entire amount will be deducted from your last paycheck.

Because we provide services to older adults, a criminal record check will be done. Sealed criminal records should be reported here as they will be reported on the criminal record check. Disqualifying convictions under Ohio law will lead to termination or revocation of an offer of employment. A criminal conviction will not necessarily bar you from employment.

I authorize and release the persons or business entities named on my employment application, to provide Kemper House with any and all information regarding my employment record including but not limited to: dates of employment, job descriptions, performance evaluations, salary history, disciplinary actions, response to supervision, work relationships, background checks, honesty, attendance record, and eligibility for re-hire.
