Thielen Student Health Center (TSHC) at Iowa State University is currently seeking applications for a Nursing Assistant. TSHC is the primary provider of health care services for the students of Iowa State University. It provides primary health care, mental health services, laboratory and radiology services, pharmacy services and physical therapy. In addition, the TSHC Prevention Services department provides leadership for a comprehensive approach to reduce health risks for students, foster a healthy campus environment, and support the academic the academic success of students.
The Nursing Assistant will assist in the care of patients by maintaining sterile equipment; ensuring that all supplies are within their documented shelf life; maintaining adequate supplies in exam and treatment rooms; assisting with room turn-over procedures, assisting with inventory control and acting as a chaperone for examinations as needed.
The successful candidate will possess good verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, understanding of basic infection control, and the physical capabilities to perform reaching, handling, talking, seeing, hearing, standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
Previous medical office experience.
CPR certification or the ability to complete within three months of hire.
Entry hourly salary: $12.58
