Functions within the framework of the mission, vision, strategic goals and standards of the Health System. Strategically manages and directs unit within the Medical Center. Ensures efficient and cost-effective use of a variety of resources in delivering quality services. Demonstrates 24-hour accountability for all functions of the nursing unit. Develops and operationalizes a plan for the integration of nursing services. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates administrative activities, including fiscal and other resource management. Formulates, implements, interprets, communicates and evaluates nursing division standards. Identifies, coordinates, facilitates and evaluates nursing division quality improvement activities. The position requires effective skills in communication, conceptual thinking, negotiation, integration and planning. Coaches and mentors staff to achieve professional growth development.
Currently Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Arkansas. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly recommended and preferred. Clinical specialty certification is desired. BLS, ACLS and PALS Certification required.
Membership in professional organizations is highly encouraged.
Education requisite to obtain required license/certification for the position.
Three to five years of current clinical nursing. Requires knowledge of federal and regularotyr agency standards related to health care organizations. Must have cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken and written word. A flexible work schedule is required. Involves discretiona dn independent action within prescribed limits. This position reuires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
Possesses the knowledge and skill regarding the devekopmental needs of the patient population served as well as the skill required to perform processes involved in the delivery of care services sto that population. This includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
