Medical Surgical Nursing Instructor will participate in classroom, clinical, lab, and simulation; assisting in curriculum development and evaluation; assessment of learning outcomes; developing course outlines, teaching plans, and clinical sites. Student advising, recruiting, orientation and registration; and serving on departmental and institutional committees are also required of this position.
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Concentration in Nursing Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required. (Applicants actively enrolled and within 1 academic semester of completing an MSN in Nursing Education will be considered.)
- Candidates holding a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), without a nursing education concentration that graduated from a regionally accredited (ACEN or CCNE) college or university are welcome to apply. However, completion of a Post-Master Teaching and Learning Certificate from an approved North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) program will be expected within 1 year of employment.
Five years (current) of full-time employment in direct patient care. Teaching experience preferred.
Clinical expertise in a medical and/or surgical specialty.
