position in the Riley County Health Department, job location is located at 2030 Tecumseh Rd, Manhattan, KS.
Full-time position including provision of direct nursing services in clinic and community settings as well as supervisory responsibilities. Work involves planning, writing, reporting, and organizing, as well as supervising all nursing staff of the health department for family planning, primary care, communicable disease surveillance, HIV programs, and MCH.
Participates in planning and operation of clinic.
Develops and/or oversees the development of nursing policies and procedures for specialized public health programs including family planning, TB control, emergency response, immunizations, laboratory and communicable disease/HIV/AIDS case management.
Develops and maintains written protocol and standing orders for Clinic and Family Planning nursing services in consultation with the Medical Director.
Office hours are Monday - Wednesday 8:00am - 5:00 pm, Thursday 8:00am - 7:00 pm and Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm.
Qualifications RN graduate of an accredited nursing school, 3 years experience in public health nursing, 3 years of supervisory experience is required. A Masters Degree in nursing or ARNP with 3 year’s Public Health experience is preferred.
Kansas Nursing License. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Special Requirements Public Health facility requires a non-smoker.
