The Nursing and Allied Health Simulation Lab Clinical Coordinator has a major area of responsibility in the coordination of clinical simulation education within the Health Sciences Division. Responsibilities may include didactic education, clinical simulation lab education with the evaluation of the simulation effectiveness. The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with faculty, college and agency staff to place students in clinical simulation experiences on and off campus, and evaluates simulation experiences Orientation, direction and guidance is provided for the faculty, adjuncts, staff, and hourly laboratory assistants. Responsibilities include preparing equipment and learning materials for instructional activities in the labs, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory and equipment as needed, and documentation of satisfactory student performance based upon the criteria stipulated by faculty; assistance with the marketing of health careers in the community.
Collaborate with program directors and program clinical coordinators to schedule simulation activities.
Promote and facilitate interdisciplinary simulation activities.
Communicate with clinical instructors and preceptors in the clinical setting.
Communicate with program director the status of student learning experiences.
Classroom didactic instruction.
Maintain an environment conducive to learning in the clinical simulation laboratories.
Order supplies and maintain inventory and equipment with attention to cost and quality.
Set up instructional equipment and supplies.
Assist students in orienting to the laboratories and in practicing skills.
Document basic skill competency through return demonstration of skills
Oversee student activities in the campus laboratories.
Assist students with computer software, hardware, and audiovisual materials, as necessary
Provide orientation, direction and guidance to faculty, instructional assistants and adjunct faculty, to the Skills Lab.
Provide updates to regarding student simulation laboratory activities.
Maintain student records, as necessary
Promote health careers at HCC .
Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum $53,573. Excellent benefits, paid leaves and tuition reimbursement.
This position is not overtime eligible.
Masters in related field.
Unencumbered Maryland nursing license.
Four years full-time experience in the professional discipline.
Experience in simulation education ,preferred
Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction and evaluation.
One year full-time experience as an instructor, preferred.
Experience in simulation education, preferred
