Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of department supervisors, prepares cold food items such as, salads, sandwiches and desserts for cafeteria, patients and Meals On Wheels as required. Responsible for sanitation of salad and sandwich equipment and area. Understands the principles and terminology of modified diets. Prepares meals using standardized recipes and serves according to dietary instruction using correct portion control as determined by tally sheet. All assigned kitchen tools, equipment and work areas are cleaned and/or stored according to prescribed methods/standards and passes all kitchen inspections.
Requirements : High school diploma or equivalent. Computer skills required. Prior experience in the food service industry preferred or demonstrated ability to prepare food in quantity with high standard of quality. Must be able to read, write and communicate routine information and to perform simple arithmetic functions.
