High School Diploma or GED. 1-3 years hospital food service experience.
Good verbal communication skills in person and on the telephone.
Performs clerical work related to Diet Office functions. Reviews menus for conformity to physician ordered diet. Maintains updated diet records and implements accurate diet changes from Meditech or telephone message. May visit and assists patients with menu selection as requested. Delivers trays to patients and maintains floorstocks. Communicates patients' nutritional concerns with the diet technician and/or registered dietitian. Obtains "room service" choices from patients, usually via phone, but sometimes in person. Researches and clarifies diet order discrepancies, tallies and arranges all modified diets, tube feedings and processes orders.
