To serve students and staff meals which are attractive and appealing, correct temperature, in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, safety and warmth.
Under the supervision of the Principal, assists with operation of a satellite kitchen where packaged meals are heated and served.
Supervises student workers in the absence of the Satellite Manager.
Assumes responsibility for Satellite Manager duties during the absence of the Satellite Manager.
Assists with projecting meal count in advance based on menu.
Assists with ordering milk directly from vendor.
Assists with checking in food and supply shipments into the kitchen, signing invoices only after each order has been verified.
Assists with rotating food according to first in, first out procedure. Assists with discarding of perishable food items that are older than three (3) days and/or are of poor quality.
Assists with ordering of supplies as needed from Central Kitchen.
Assists with heating of meals as outlined on established schedule, checking temperatures of each batch heated, and taking special care as to the quality of the finished product.
Assists with supervision of student workers.
Assists with serving of meals. Ensures that students receive reimbursable meal (for breakfast, any two menu items; for lunch, an entrée plus one other menu item.
Assists with satellite production worksheet and satellite program monthly recap.
Maintains the highest standards of kitchen safety, sanitation, personal cleanliness and appropriate attire for food service operations.
Assists with cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen daily.
Follows cleaning schedule for equipment.
Assists with recording of temperatures daily for all food storage areas.
Assists with locking of all areas as appropriate.
Participates in in-service training programs.
Assumes such other tasks as may be assigned by supervisor.
Direct contact with Satellite Manager, Principal, staff, teachers and students. Frequent contact with Food and Nutrition Services Director and Coordinator.
