OBIEE Sr Developer (Crystal City)

This positions supports an Army Customer out of Crystal City, VA. The program is high profile among Army Senior Leaders and the environment is fast paced. You will be responsible for gathering process redesign requirements; coordinating and participating in development activities and support the testing and implementation of package-based application software. This requires expertise in interface and data conversion requirements, capabilities and limitations, and setup and configuration issues associated with product modules.
Essential Job Functions
Understand, design and develop business intelligence solution components and reports, including:
Report and dashboard creation
Create BI Publisher Reports
Create reports as requested and design delivery mechanisms and proactive notifications for these reports, and provide on-going analytical and technical support.
Assist with the conversion of existing reports to the enterprise BI infrastructure toolset.
Build, manage, and maintain common components and metadata layer attributes and metrics as required by the business.
Determine testing needed to ensure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions.
Perform maintenance and support of existing applications.
Monitor the ETL processes, and understand, research, and correct errors should they arise.
Proactively work with members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by scope, timelines, and budgets.
Strong SQL development experience
Knowledge of database architecture and design for Business Intelligence
Knowledge of database indexing and tuning in SQL Server
Experience in both Presentation and Repository layers of OBIEE
Solid understanding of ETL processes and procedures
Solid understanding of best practices for dashboard development and data visualization techniques
Ability to interpret requirements and technical specifications and translate them into visual representations of information
Experience working within a structured change control environment
Maintains conceptual understanding of enterprise software package solutions and related implementation issues from a technical perspective
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
Twelve or more years of experience in software engineering or operating systems programming
Experience working with software design principles
Experience working with conducting costing analyses
Experience working with marketing concepts and requirements for software products
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills to resolve highly complex software design issues and create new software for multiple products
Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with senior customers, management and team members
Strong communication skills to interact with team members and senior support personnel
Strong organization skills to prioritize, balance and lead several projects
Ability to synthesize broad and narrow concepts of high complexity and use them to meet company objectives
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Five or more years OBIEE experience.
Java Sript experience helpful
- Experience working with software design principles
DoD experience necessary, Army preferred.
Good skills in package-based development (PBD) concepts and activities
Ability to devise creative business solutions
Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex business problems
Must be clearable with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
