OEM Engineering Program Manager
Be part of a small team of highly skilled developers in the systems development of next generation cutting edge networking products, responsible for working with OEM partners to integrate into Extreme's product portfolio.
Directly responsible for management and coordination of all technical activities on OEM programs in the wireless networking (WLAN) and optical networking transceiver areas. Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates assigned individuals and engineering work; Works with vendors and OEM partners to identify new opportunities and solutions to meet product requirements, monitors results for compliance to product requirements, applicable standards and accepted engineering practices; ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned programs between all disciplines, OEM vendors and all other project participants. Expected to have significant technical knowledge and awareness of details to recognize when technical problems are developing with the various products, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions with the teams and OEM partners.
Responsible for evaluating, planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical management of all OEM products. Must utilize project management tools to drive project performance using best practices and techniques. Accountable to drive OEM products from selection and needs determination through to customer delivery and engage on sustaining activities. Responsible to develop the project proposals, schedule estimation and resource planning. Directly interface and engage with OEM partners to drive weekly meetings, close action items, develop and modify supplier contracts between the vendors and OEM partners.
Must have 12+ years of engineering and/or program management experience. Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate good project management skills and have Microsoft Project and Office experience. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required. Must be highly motivated and a self-starter. Capability to innovate is desirable, while professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail are a must. Ability to work well with cross-functional teams is extremely important. Proven track record of working in fast paced innovative work environment.
