Salary Range: $2808-$4212/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; non-exempt classification.
Essential Functions: This position serves as the Office Manager for the University Writing Center (UWC.) Reporting to the University Writing Center Faculty Director, the Office Manager has the broad responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations and specialized activities of the Center. Duties include but are not limited to: coordinating clerical and administrative support functions for the faculty director, part-time faculty, graduate assistants, and a large student employee pool; training and supervising front counter scheduling assistants; processing paperwork for hiring of part-time faculty, graduate assistants, and student assistants: assisting in preparing monthly attendance and payroll reports; facilitating travel arrangements and expense claims; coordinating and scheduling unit-bearing courses; creating and maintaining office files including confidential department compliance; gathering and analyzing data; interacting and communicating professionally with all levels of faculty, staff, students, and management; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to four years of general office clerical experience that includes operational or procedural administrative support, on-going work coordination, and/or lead responsibilities with notable accountability for the work results of support staff or unit administrative functions. Non-related college education may substitute for up to two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for six months of experience. Incumbent must be detail oriented and possess excellent written and oral communication, customer service, and organizational skills; and the ability to: work with Microsoft Office; learn, independently interpret, and apply a variety of university policies and procedures; produce reports, prepare spreadsheets and evaluate data from a database; handle effectively a broader range of interpersonal contacts; and demonstrate initiative and responsibility with respect to everyday duties and projects. Incumbent must have ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
