The Supervisor of Operations Planning reports
to the Butte Operations Manager and is responsible for the supervision of
specific responsibilities described below and supports all other Division
functions related to the planning, operation and administration of the electric
and natural gas systems within the Butte Division service area. The Supervisor of Operations Planning will
work closely with the other Division leaders of Safety, Construction, Electric
Operations and Gas Operations to assure that the planning and execution of work
is performed safely, on schedule and effectively.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensure

This

position will have direct responsibility for:
Outage management and analysis
Power quality system planning,
power quality and RFI issue investigation and resolution
System operation optimization
coordinated with the asset management, substation and electric/gas
operations functions (coordination studies, data plans, switching plans,
feeder loading, ties, etc.)
The coordination and integration
of effective leadership and human performance initiatives in the Division workforce
with the Operations Manager, Electric and Gas Supervisors
Supervisory responsibilities for
a part of the Division rural workforce and operation
Metering function within the
Division operations including personnel, work execution and metering performance
metrics and data analysis
Operations processes to include,
but not limited to the line patrol annual plan, execution and deficiency corrections
Claims resolution lead

The
Supervisor of Operations Planning will have the responsibility to support

the following:
Annual capital
and expense budget preparation
Annual work plan
development and execution
Annual required
workforce training
DOT and DIMPS
annual requirements assistance
Annual projects
development and design to support operations and construction
Supervise the
gas and electric operations in the absence of the Operations Manager

All
employees are responsible to ensure that work is performed in compliance with
all federal, state and local regulations as well as Policies and Procedures
established by NorthWestern Energy

·
Responsible
to ensure that plans and work are executed in compliance with the NWE Safety and Standards Manuals

·
Able
to lead in a day-to-day operations that is dynamic and is a change agent

·
A
significant amount of time is spent in an office environment with occasional
lifting of lightweight products or material up to 20 pounds

·
Travel
is required up to 20% of the work time or as the work requires under varying
conditions

·
This
position will also be required to be on-call for after hours emergencies as
part of the Division operations Supervisor-on-Call rotation

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

·
Must
be able to demonstrate a good safety record

·
Must
possess strong interpersonal communication skills

·
An
engineering degree is required

·
A
Professional Engineer License is preferred or the commitment to obtain a
license within an agreed upon timeframe will be required

·
A
practical knowledge of all phases of utility electric and gas operations is
recommended

·
Applicant
should have a general knowledge of the engineering, construction and operation
of electric and natural gas transmission and distribution systems including
regulatory policies (FERC, DOT, etc.) or related experience

·
Applicant
should possess a working knowledge of Company safety and environmental policies
and procedures or have related experience

·
Applicant
must have the ability to supervise and direct the activities of several
functions and direct reports, coordinate diverse activities, delegate
efficiently and promote and maintain a positive and progressive work
environment

Applicant
must be proficient in computer skills for a variety of applications relevant to
the planning and work management requirements of the position
