Research, analyze and solve Revenue Management and related questions relating to data, systems and tools.

Expertise in Revenue Management tools is a must.

Develop methods for measuring, analyze and report on forecast accuracy, inventory optimization and other processes.

Make proactive recommendations based on system knowledge and analysis to improve revenue performance and meet Department goals.

Give direction on how to and analyze booking, schedule, fare, and availability data to Sr. Manager and Director.

Design and test Revenue Management based support tools and applications with the Technology Department.

Design and build tools, datasets, and automated processes to support Yield and Pricing Teams.

Assist and support Revenue Management projects, such as new revenue initiatives and long-term Department and company-wide projects.

Ability to explain purpose of and provide written documentation of tools, processes, and projects.

Represents Revenue Management in discussions with Commercial and Technology Departments and serves as liaison to RM Technology and EDW Teams.

Regular presentations to Revenue Management Department, to Vice President directly, and occasionally to SVP/EVP/C-suite.

Organize and assist in training Operations Research Analysts and Sr. Analysts on Revenue Management system, analysis tools, and data sources.

Design, test, analyze, report, and recommend changes to settings in Revenue Management system and external processes.

Utilize knowledge of statistics, data architecture, systems integration, problem solving, and computer programming.

Read and contribute to complex technical documentation relating to Revenue Management systems, statistical software, and other systems and apply this understanding to various system settings, analyses, and reports.

Daily work in Excel and Access (occasional use of VBA) and SQL with frequent work in PowerPoint.

Lead and contribute to Revenue Management projects from start to finish.

Manage and lead multiple tasks simultaneously, frequently with changing deadlines.

Demonstrates and encourages others to produce high level of innovation of new and modifying existing ways of business.

Ability to develop business cases from own original ideas, including requirement writing, timeline definition, basic project plan, and cost/benefit analysis.

Utilize expert level understanding of Revenue Management and related commercial and operational Departments and procedures.

Aware of the latest revenue management and operations research methodologies, ideas, and technologies and preparing the Department based on the knowledge of the characteristics of our business and knowledge of future plans on the horizon.

Works on cross-department Company projects that involve or impact Revenue Management and makes recommendations for the project and for Revenue Management as a result of the project to ensure optimal results.

Assists in the evaluation, negotiation, purchase, design, requirements building, and maintenance of enhancements and repairs with outside vendors.

Monitors changes in demand, competition, strategy, and economic environment and makes recommendations for adjustments to the Revenue Management system in order to improve forecasting, optimization, and other Revenue Management tools and processes.

Ensure that required process and application changes are identified, supported, and maintained. This also includes the retirement of processes no longer needed as things change.

Attends annual conferences related to Revenue Management, Operations Research, and other related topics.

Works on and leads multiple long-term and short-term projects simultaneously.

Acts as a sounding board for ideas and guides Team with their projects to ensure success and productivity.

Challenges thinking of Sr. Manager and Director.

Mentor and develop the business intuition and technical skills of those in less senior positions, and to motivate others to do likewise.

Manages Team who monitors and seeks to improve RM forecasting tools and maximize revenue.

Develop and execute strategic initiatives to support Department goals.

Monitor and analyze the technical solutions available to SWA and RM.

Responsible for the administration of the Revenue Management Department forecasting and optimization system and in-house tools, reports, and datasets.

Responsible for the maintenance of the Revenue Management Department local area network (LAN) and its integration within the Company’s local area networks.

Responsible for hitting revenue targets, project deadlines, and goals as assigned.

Help create and evaluate goals for Direct Reports that support corporate objectives.

Give guidance and Leadership to Departmental projects relating to revenue optimization.

Demonstrate advanced forecasting and analytical skills to perform numerous ad hoc analyses with the goal of reporting on and improving the performance of the network.

Frequently provide analytic updates and appropriate recommendations to Senior Management.

Handle various requests and demands from both the Revenue Management Department and from other Departments.

Supervise and develop training for Revenue Management Analysts on Department tools and RM concepts and techniques.

Ensure the adequate documentation for all in-house applications and critical functions.

Responsible for ensuring productivity levels of all Department personnel by providing the correct tool set.

Prioritize required tasks using excellent time management skills.

Serve as primary liaison to vendor of forecasting and optimization system.

Support Sr. Manager and Director with special projects as needed.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Minimum Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION (Level, and degree if applicable)

Four year college degree preferred (preferably in Finance, Economics, Math, Business, Computer Science, MIS, Statistics, or Engineering)

WORK EXPERIENCE:

4+ years in highly analytical environment, required. Education experience not accepted in lieu of work experience

3+ years in airline Revenue Management experience required

Previous Leadership experience preferred

Proficiency in SQL packages is required (preferably Teradata).

Deep understanding of relational database systems is required.

Must be able to manage multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions and widely-varying timelines and priorities.

Ability to work well with others as part of a team as well as set direction and prioritization for the team and work under deadlines.

Ability to supervise.

Excellent demonstrated problem solving, interpersonal, decision making and time management skills required.

Experience working in an airline Revenue Management environment required.

Must be able to clearly communicate meaning of complex principles and processes to all audiences.

Must be able to tie Revenue Management actions to Operational impacts and distill impacts that are specifically related to RM (e.g. denied boardings, customer holds, etc) and vice versa.

Must have expert knowledge of a Revenue Management system.

Must have strong knowledge of a Reservations system.

Must be passionate about coaching.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and interact with all levels of management.

Quickly assesses impacts to Revenue Management on decisions made outside of Revenue Management Department.

Demonstrates strategic thought process.

Ability to effectively influence colleagues.

Must be detail-oriented without sacrificing strategic vision.
