The Assistant OR Nurse Manager provides shift operational management for the planned care of patients, nursing personnel, and environmental and financial aspects of care in the department under the direction of the OR Director. The Assistant OR Nurse Manager functions consistently within the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department utilizing a leadership style which foster quality patient care, and growth and development of staff.
Responsible for the movement of the daily operation of the Operating Room schedule.
Coordinates patient flow from other hospital units into the operating room. This includes ensuring that the patient is ready for surgery, surgeon is available to perform the surgery and the operating room is cleaned, and prepared with the appropriate equipment for the planned surgery, and a competent operating room staff is assigned
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN or MA in health related field preferred.
Member AORN preferred.
Current New Jersey R.N. license.
Maintains required BLS certification
A minimum of 5 years clinical experience in OR nursing, possessing demonstrated effective leadership, decision-making, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Previous RN scrub and circulating experience in an Operating Room setting required.
Previous Board Runner experience in OR setting highly preferred.
