Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC), is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Formed by the merger of Arden Hill Hospital and Horton Medical Center, Orange Regional provides 450 beds and employs over 2,500 healthcare professionals including over 550 doctors. Orange Regional Medical Center has consolidated two existing campuses onto a single site in Middletown, New York. This completed facility is the first new freestanding hospital built in the State of New York in more than 20 years and is the largest medical center between the Tappan Zee Bridge and Albany.
The Obstetrical Technician serves as Scrub Technician during Cesarean Sections under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and is responsible for the coordination of supplies and equipment during the assigned shift. Additionally, the Obstetrical Technician performs direct patient care and clerical duties as directed by the Registered Nurse and is responsible for maintaining a smooth flow of patient related communications, written and verbal, between medical, nursing and ancillary staff.
High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a surgical technician program preferred. Comparable experience as OB Tech. will be considered. Successful completion of a Surgical Tech program preferred.
Six months experience as OR or OB Technician preferred. Must demonstrate mature judgement and good communication skills. Basic computer skills are preferred.
Surgical Technician certification preferred; Heartsaver current and ongoing.
