It is the responsibility of the Occupational Health
Nurse to direct, administer and evaluate AMRI ‘s
Corporate wide occupational health and wellness
programs. Provide and oversee occupational health
services for employees at all locations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Provide primary nursing care for occupational injuries
and illnesses based on assessment, nursing diagnosis
and medical directives.
Provide case management services for work related and
non-work related injuries and/or illnesses.
Design, implement and evaluate a comprehensive and
active Company Wellness Program.
Administer medical surveillance programs, mandatory
respirator certification program, annual physical
examinations, preplacement and return-to-work
examinations, job accommodations, light duty needs,
asbestos and high potency programs.
Participate on the Company’s Safety Committees and
provide recommendations for improvement.
Responsible for medical coordination of the
Company’s transitional return-to-work program.
Responsible for administration of the Workers’
Compensation Case Management Program for all sites.
Provide health referrals and follow-up measures with
community health resources, i.e. American Heart
Assists in the management of the relationship with
external occupational medical services’ providers.
Maintains confidential health records and Workers’
Maintains department equipment and orders necessary
supplies within operation’s budget.
Periodically evaluate the Health Services planned
programs and activities for appropriateness, adequacy,
effectiveness and efficiency.
Maintain awareness of current standards for Health and
Safety legislation and legal statutes pertinent to the
practice of nursing and medicine in Occupational Health.
Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality
of products and/or service.
Participate in self-development activities and training
- Graduate of accredited nursing school
- Currently Licensed as a professional Nurse in New
and Health Education/Program Planning experience
- BS and (5) five years experience Occupational Health
Case Management desirable.
