Provide quality nursing care and serve as an overall occupational health nurse supporting plant operations and activities. Assist supervision in the administration of the short-term disability program through case management. Manage the day-to-day operations of the health services area including budget coordination and maintenance of the physical plant and supplies. Perform medical surveillance testing, to include but not limited to obtaining and reviewing confidential health history, spirometry, audiometry, vision test, EKG, phlebotomy for blood analysis. Ensure compliance with Federal, State and other regulatory agencies, mandated regulations (i.e. OSHA and EPA), as well as Corporate Safety and Occupational Health Guidelines for the protection of personnel in the workplace from occupational health hazards and the care, treatment, and management of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses. Available for call and work during off-hours with minimal notice as needed.
Advise, coach and educate employees individually or in groups on preventive health and wellness. Take a lead medical role in recognizing and preventing workplace hazards, such as related to ergonomics, indoor air qualaity, heat stress, etc. Perform pre-assignment health assessments; assess employees for return to work, fitness for duty, and recommend medical restrictions within work scope if necessary. Champions DuPont best practices and technology as applied to occupational medicine processes in order to improve those processes. Coordinate and leverage resources with other medical professionals, both within and outside DuPont to appropriately manage medical care and costs. Administer the drug testing program under the guidance of the MRO.

Registered Nurse in good-standing and a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a current and active license by the State Board of Nursing. It is recommended that the candidate have at least a minimum of 5 years experience in occupational health nursing, a BS in nursing or equivalent. The candidate should be current in CPR. Ability to work independent of daily physician oversite and able to recognize when need for consultation with a physician is necessary. Excellent writen and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work extremely well in a team environment with a diverse workforce in all functional levels. Knowledge of computer applications of comprehensive tracking systems and Microsoft Office. The candidate should have knowledge of fields relevant to occupational health nursing; such as, substance abuse, Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, toxicology, epidemiology, disability case management, preventive health and wellness, physical assessment and health education and counseling.
A COHN (Certification in Occupational Health Nursing) preferred.
