The George Mason University, Office of Institutional Research and Reporting ( IRR ) is seeking a part-time, hourly wage Office Assistant. This position requires 20 hours of work per week.
IRR functions as the official source of institutional information. The office is responsible for analyzing and reporting institutional information about students, faculty and staff; academic programs; and other university activities.
The individual in this position will work closely with IRR’s Administrative Assistant to support a wide-range of tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: online data entry for numerous external surveys, maintaining up-to-date information for Virginia doctoral and peer institutions, organizing and maintaining office files, assisting with the publication of the University Factbook, and assisting with the production of various reports and other documents.
The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially MS Excel and Word) is required. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Excel and patience in using various Web interfaces to complete online data entry for external surveys.
