This is a full-time position located at the Emmetsburg Campus. Primary responsibilities are to perform complete secretarial/clerical tasks related to the business office, housing and farm operations. Daily office duties include answering the college switchboard and handling student inquiries. Assist the housing coordinator with processing housing contracts, dorm contracts, insurance forms and room assignments. Also, this position may include processing requisitions and miscellaneous clerical tasks related to the farm. A sincere commitment to customer service is a necessity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (% of TIME)
Answer telephone, deliver messages & answer student/parent inquiries.
Process book vouchers and payments through the Emmetsburg Business Office.
May perform clerical tasks related to the college farm operation.
Assume duties of other employees during their absences as needed.
Assist housing staff with campus dorm contracts, deposits, roommate assignments, correspondence and housing functions.
Assist with clerical tasks related to the college farm operation.
Assist in completing year end reports and other reports required by the other college or outside agencies.
Assist the housing coordinator in preparing and mailing housing contracts.
Serve as back-up Cashier for student accounts, as needed.
Assist Admission Office as needed with computer processing of student information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a personal computer.
Represent the College in a positive manner with prospective, former and current students, staff and the community.
Must be enthusiastic and energetic in performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Organization is essential.
Thorough knowledge of office procedures, telephone techniques and office equipment, as well as correct English usage, grammar, punctuation and arithmetic is required.
Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions or communications.
Ability to effectively perform tasks in an environment of frequent interruptions.
Ability to assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems and exercise good judgment when making decisions.
Sufficient ability to take notes at meetings and prepare an accurate record of events.
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motion frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.
