Coordinates, resolves, maintains and provides services for packages of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and consults with service lines and their staff to customize software.
Evaluates the effect on patient, patient care and patient care outcomes of all computer-based systems; makes recommendation to departmental and hospital management for improvement.
Assist in maintaining automated system packages or modules as designated; Utilizes the automated system in multiple departments.
Assists other staff in collecting appropriate data through use of hospital automated systems, personal computer based programs, the Internet and hard-copy materials as needed.
Participates in the interdepartment effort to maintain and improve the quality and accuracy of medical and health care related data; serves as a liaison between service lines concerning clinical information flow.

BASIC QUALIFICATION: Candidates must have had 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level to qualify for the GS-06 grade level. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level. Examples of the type of experience that will be credited are: Analyzing and evaluating processes related to information flow to patient care and systems that support patient care; training and assisting staff in efficient use of computer software; organizing and providing training to staff on computer software; extracts and inputs data manually or through a computer system to create reports.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : For GS-6, generally not creditable. For GS-07 and GS-08, education is not creditable; however, graduate education may be credited where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, or technical school, junior college, college or university.
PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must present evident passing the typing proficiency from a school or other organizations authorized to issue such certification (40 WPM typing speed, WPM are based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors).
