BLM is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team of the Pinedale Field Office to provide the necessary administrative support to the Resource Area. The BLM manages more land - approximately 253 million acres - than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estates throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

The Pinedale Field Office manages 912,000 acres of federal surface/federal minerals and almost 300,000 acres of private surface/federal minerals. Major uses of the public lands include oil and gas exploration & development, recreation and livestock grazing. This area provides a variety of resource values including wildlife habitat, wild horses, recreational opportunities, minerals, livestock grazing, and paleontological and cultural resources. KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
You will be responsible for a variety of office services in support of the Resource Area. You will operate automated equipment collecting & maintaining data. It will be your responsibility to edit documents for proper grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc. Other duties will include mail distribution, information receptionist, records management & maintenance, collection of monies, small purchases, and time & attendance. This position requires a qualified typist, able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
For GS-04: 1 year of progressively responsible clerical, office or other work experience that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position, OR have 2 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite, OR have an equivalent combination of general experience and education described above. General experience for a GS-4 would include skill in using a PC to process a wide range of documents, such as graphics, tables, update & revise databases or spreadsheets, experience with more than one software type, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., recognizes discrepancies & corrects or questions originators in such matters as improper formatting & missing information. If you worked part time, please provide the percentage of time that you spent on the general duties listed.
