The purpose of the position is to provide support to both hospital-based clinics and freestanding clinics through activities such as billing, patient registration, scheduling, charge entry, coding, verification, prior authorization, insurance processing, and claim work queue edits. By providing a level of standardization across all Allina Health System customers can expect the same level of high service from one setting to the next. The position carries out Allina Best Practices based around the scheduling, pre-appointment, reception, cash receipts, charge capture, work queue, and charge entry processes.
- High School graduate required
- College degree preferred
- College/technical/vocational training in health care related field required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of billing experience, insurance verification, authorization, and charge entry required
- Data entry, advanced computer, and mathematics knowledge required
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Good interpersonal skills/customer focus
- Good organizational/time management skills
- Good problem solving/judgment skills
- Background and work history in medical terminology, insurance, coding, and charge entry
