The Office Manager will assist the Department of Philosophy with budget/accounts, reimbursements, purchases, other financial tasks, personnel and payroll, faculty hiring/reappointments/promotions, curriculum management, general office assistance, as well as have supervisory duties. Posting Description
Department Information:
The department of Philosophy is housed in the Hellems Building at the University of Colorado Boulder. The department currently has 25 tenure and tenure track faculty, 2 senior instructors, 3 instructors, and anywhere from 3 to 7 lecturers. We have an Administrative Assistant II in the main office and an Administrative Assistant III who is the graduate assistant. There are approximately 55 graduate students and close to 200 undergraduate students. We have 4 to 5 conferences over the course of the year, along with a few Friday colloquia over the course of the fall and spring terms. The department has a very pleasant working environment; the faculty members are fun and interesting people. The work requires professionalism, management, interpersonal, communication, and technological skill.

Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Office Manager include, but are not limited to: assisting the Philosophy Department office in its support of faculty and students; assisting the department chair with budget preparation and fiscal control of various department funds (general fund, auxiliary gift and grant accounts), authorizing expenditures, monitoring reconciliation of accounts, and preparing budget status reports; assist Course Scheduler with construction of curriculum and enter information into the Integrated Student Information System ( ISIS ); assist department chair with merit review, promotion and tenure review, post-tenure review cases, and faculty recruitment; serve as department liaison to the Hellems Financial Service Center for financial matters and to the Arts & Sciences Human Resources Office for processes; supervise equivalent of 2 full time staff and a group of students(equivalent to one full time position) , for a total of 3 full time appointments.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $45,552 per year, $3,796 monthly.
Pay Grade: S13

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current Colorado resident in order to apply.

- Four years of general clerical experience which must include at least one year of experience at the Executive Assistant level.
- Substitution: college or university course work, appropriate to the work assignment, may substitute for two years of the required experience which must also include two years of general clerical experience with one of these years at the Executive Assistant level. If using education as a substitution, you must attach proof of education.
