Provides support to the Client and Staff Services Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Responsibilities of the position include preparing medical records for admissions, performing admissions/discharges, reception desk coverage, appointment scheduling, distribution of mail, faxing referral letters, confirming appointments, and retrieving charts as needed. This person will also cross train in Medical Records where they will assist in organizing medical records and performing various other medical record duties.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in a veterinary or human medical facility; knowledge of standard medical terminology and medical records; experience with computer functions such as data entry and word processing; experience with current computer software such as Microsoft Office; strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate both in person and via telephone a must.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a medical receptionist; experience with medical records maintenance.
