Position Summary

The Bronx Zoo Business Operations department is seeking a self motivated, enthusiastic, customer centric individual who is able to supervise and maintain an efficient office environment and provide administrative support to all departments within Business Operations (Admissions, Merchandise, Restaurants and Group Sales).


Include but are not limited to

' Provide excellent customer service over the phone, transfer calls to the appropriate department (returns calls & check voicemail) as well as monitor and document all guest concerns that are handled through the department

' Monitor and document all storage systems located in numerous storage locations throughout the zoo

' Input & record daily attendance & revenue for the Bronx Zoo as well as the NY Aquarium & Central Park Zoo when needed

' Retrieve information when needed by using the Galaxy Gateway terminal/software

' Coordinate and organize appointments and meetings that take place in the Business Operations conference/training room

' Ensure office equipment are properly maintained and serviced

' Perform work related errands as requested (Staples, Office Depot)

' Distribute checks and seasonal incentive prizes to seasonal employees and ensure that proper procedures are being followed

' Process & correct Membership enrollment forms that are received from all membership field locations

' Distribute and monitor seasonal uniform inventory as well as names tags for each department

' Prepare outgoing mail for distribution at all parks

' Prepare documents and reports as requested by manager

' Provide assistance in the field when needed (ticket taker, Greeter, Crowd Control etc.)

' Work closely with our cash control department on discrepancies pertaining to Membership & Group Sales operations

' Move and pick-up orders that can weigh up to 30lbs

' Supervise and delegate tasks to staff within the office which also includes lunch breaks and weekly schedules



' Strong verbal and written communication skills

' Highly dependable and reliable

' Proactive and outgoing

' Ability to multi task and prioritize projects

' Must have 2 years office experience

' Must have Knowledge in excel, word and outlook

' Must be available to work weekends , holidays & extended hours
