The Offshore Product Coordinator for Vermont Teddy Bear Company will coordinate offshore product activities with the Sourcing, Technical Design, Quality Control and Product Development teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Monitors work flow through the product approval process ensuring that all deadlines are met and if not met that contingency plans exist. This process will begin once the supplier confirms the PO and will end once the shipment is booked
II. Consistently communicates with suppliers as well as Sourcing, Tech Design and QC Teams to facilitate work flow, making sure deadlines are met and at the same time, expectations for product and component approvals are realistic.
III. Supports the Sourcing Team by creating, distributing and tracking Purchase Orders. Requests product codes from Inventory control team, as needed.
IV. Supports the Technical Design Team. This may include sending technical specification packs to vendors, receiving and logging sample garments, measuring and evaluating garments, logging approval status of submits, sending packages to overseas vendors, as well as other tasks as assigned.
V. Supports Quality Control Team. This may include assisting in Inspections and logging the approval status of Lab Test Results, Top of Production Garments and Inspections, as well as other tasks as assigned.
VI. Participates in updating compliance and procedure manual documents.
VII. Follows all ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by VTB and the department.
VIII. Responsible for SOS participation as required during Peaks.
IX. Adheres to VTB's inventory control procedures.
X. Adheres to departmental Action Plans on a year-round basis.
• 3-5 years experience working with overseas factories.
• Strong understanding of apparel manufacturing and technical design.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• This individual must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team and be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese a plus.
