CO-OP PROCESS OPERATOR
Position Summary:
The co-op process operator will learn how to operate equipment to safely produce chemical products according to specified operating procedures. Co-op Operators work a 12-hour rotating shift (6 am - 6 pm & 6 pm - 6 am).
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Must be completing a 2-year associate degree in Process Technology by the end of Spring 2012 semester and meet the Process Technology Co-op Program requirements
Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Must have a valid and current government issued drivers license
Applicants will be tested for ACT WorkKeys® and must score at the required levels on 3 WorkKeys® tests (Locating Information, Applied Technology, Observation)
Prior to hire date Applicants receiving offers of employment must provide proof of their enrollment in a Co-op Program at a college or university with an accredited Process Technology Program
Physical Requirement (with or without reasonable accommodation) and Working Conditions:
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Specific vision abilities required include close vision
Physically capable of spending long hours standing
Required to work in chemical-protected clothing and equipment
Required to climb stairs and ladders, including vertical
Required to work a 12-hour rotating shift
Required to work overtime as required by the business
Required to perform some tasks inside a confined space with breathing air and wearing an acid suit
Amount of physical work increases considerably during shutdowns and emergency situations
