This position provides technical leadership to the HealthTech IT practice in support of multiple enterprise technical environments including product development, hosted customer service offerings, and corporate infrastructure. This role focuses on assessing, designing, specifying, planning, and implementing technical solutions to satisfy business requirements. These solutions employ different technologies, vendors, platforms, and styles of computing. This position provides technical consultation to current and prospective customers as needed for complex technical projects.
Work with business owners and technical SMEs to assess business requirements, design system and/or conversion solutions, and plan projects with HealthTech staff, business partners, and customers as needed.
Lead performance and storage capacity planning for virtual environments.
Lead the design and planning of an enterprise Active Directory migration project and facilitate transition to engineering.
Lead continued enhancement of HealthTech’s remote desktop and application delivery strategy (Microsoft, VMware, Citrix)
Support continued internal reference architecture design enhancement and documentation.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of HealthTech enterprise systems, including a sound appreciation of capital and operational costs, security, performance, capacity, engineering, systems management, and delivery.
Collaborate with peers to mature HealthTech IT practices, develop talent, and support the business.
Develop professional written documentation to be published for both internal and external consumption.
Required Education and Training
7+ years experience designing, planning and implementing/engineering data center servers, storage, and enterprise software
Demonstrated data center proficiency with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS preferred). Certification(s) are a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM, Remote Desktop Services, SQL Server Clustering required.
Experience with VMware data center platform (vSphere, vCloud, vCenter) required. VMware View (VDI) knowledge is a plus.
Experience with EMC VNX required. Symmetrix VMAX, Networker, Data Domain, Atmos knowledge is a plus.
Experience with hardware virtualization platforms such as Cisco UCS, EMC VPLEX, and/or IBM BladeCenter H preferred.
Experience with Brocade DCX storage backbones a plus.
Experience leading major projects with technology vendors/partners such as Microsoft, Red Hat, EMC, VMware, Citrix, IBM, Cisco
Familiarity with ITIL v3 practices desired. Certification a plus but not required.
Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks and methodologies desired. TOGAF preferred.
Must possess strong problem resolution skills with the ability to scope and present solutions to IT leadership for consideration.
Good interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to document.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task.
Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, clients, partners, and corporate executives.
Must be flexible with a “can do” attitude and have the ability to remain professional under high pressure situations.
Ability to retain and protect private and confidential material.
