Education Pioneers seeks a highly-organized, collaborative, and talented individual to provide operations and administrative support to the External Relations department as they execute the organization’s fundraising and communications strategy. The position offers the exciting opportunity to help Education Pioneers build a successful fundraising infrastructure and support our local and national fundraising units to meet and exceed their fundraising targets. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate initiative, strategic thinking, and the ability to implement and maintain effective systems that improve department efficiency. The Operations Assistant will report directly to the Director of Development (and work closely with the rest of the External Relations team) and will contribute to Education Pioneers mission to improve education and increase student achievement by supplying education organizations with the great talent necessary to ensure every child receives an excellent education.

Primary Responsibilities
Major areas of responsibility include:

Data Entry, Reporting, and Gift Processing
* Organize and maintain all prospect and donor information in database (Salesforce)
* Process and acknowledge regional and national donations
* Collaborate with Finance & Operations team ensure systems alignment
* Assist with creation of donor reports and ensure accuracy
* File all donation-related paperwork and maintain organized filing systems

Donor Relations
* Identify prospects, conduct research, analyze capacity, and assist in developing strategy for cultivating foundation, corporation, and individual donors
* Manage donation acknowledgement process, prepare acknowledgement letters, and other correspondence
* Provide support to the Sales Team on key development processes

Systems Support
* Manage and update EP Intranet (Google Sites) with key External Relations information
* Be an active member of the Salesforce Power User Group by contributing to related support resources and training for staff, participating in Salesforce improvement projects, and working to ensure the system is sustainable and scalable to development related processes
* Remain current with events and trends in education reform; acquire and maintain knowledge of activities and internal projects, policies, and procedures of Education Pioneers

Administrative Support
* Manage department calendar and meeting schedule; includes collaboration with multiple national and local departments as well as external stakeholders
* Provide executive support to the VP, External Relations and Director of Development including managing travel schedule and filing expense reports
* Work closely with the Director of Development and National Development Associate to drive the development of new systems and processes to support a fast-growing development department

Experience and Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) required
* 1-2 years of professional work experience (including internship experience), preferably in a nonprofit development/fundraising or sales/marketing capacity
* Exceptional planning, organization, and prioritization skills; project management experience a plus
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously, and follow efforts through to completion
* Impeccable attention to detail, accuracy, and timelines
* Strong initiative with ability to work independently, proactively, and as part of a team
* High level of comfort with database technology; experience with Salesforce preferred
