SUMMARY: This position is responsible for learning all duties of the trainee positions in the following functional areas: International transportation, rail operations and rates & contract administration. These training segments would be for approx. 6 months each. Those duties would include but not be limited to: In International transportation - learning all aspects of arranging transport from plant/freezer to the foreign customer destination for all Tyson products; documentation and health requirements for each country; carrier service lanes for ocean & air, forwarder and cross-dock operations; In Rail: Training in rail routes and car movement; equipment demand forecasting for tank & hopper cars; track/trace &expedite functions; trucking requirements for rendered products including carrier lanes of service, rates and customer service requirements; In the Rate area- knowledge for quoting purposes; general ledger rate development for rail & ocean; issuance of sales rate standards; contract administration.
Education: Broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college, Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain would be preferred. Experience: None required, good problem solving skills and analysis helpful. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required. Travel: Some travel may be required to visit Freezers or Ports on the International side of the business. Position-Specific Requirements The ideal candidate will be a self-started. Well motivated to learn and challenge status quo. Must be willing to relocate to other facilities after a suitable training period.
