The Operations Controller will assist the Operations Leader and Media Operations Controller in the compilation and analysis of financial performance versus the operating plans and assist in the reporting and interpretation of the results of operational results to all levels of management, local and higher. Provide leadership and supervise day-to-day activities of the Cost Accounting Department. Develop operational financial metrics, perform financial analysis of actual results versus budgets, and working with the Operations Leader and Global Media Operations Controller to highlight major points of interest and providing insight as to all significant variances to budget, prior quarter, and comparison to prior year results.

To assure protection for the company’s assets through the monitoring and enforcement of adequate internal control procedures as directed by the Global Operations Controller. Help identify organizational strengthening and development opportunities. Manage all aspects of the annual budget and forecast processes relating to costing and inventory.

RESPONSIBIITIES:
Functions as strategic business partner to the local Plant Operations Leader, Regional Group Controller, and Global Operation Controller.

Assists in the preparation of local Operations budget plans and provides analysis of financial performance versus the operating plan as well as trend analysis against prior periods.

Coordination and preparation of annual operational budgets including analytical commentary on all significant changes from prior year actual results as well as previous budgets.

Drive fact-based financial and operational analysis to assist in the creation of meaningful, actionable conclusions and business strategies, to progress decision making processes.

Provide “operational insight” for the local Operations Management team, allowing the team to understand and manage the business, such as the detailed analysis of the monthly Cost of Sales/Margin analysis.

Analyze cost and balance sheet risks and opportunities; projected impact on financial results of the Operation and provide recommendations.

Comprehensive command of all requisite corporate financial policies, helping to guide financial and business managers in decision making.

Monthly/Quarterly publication of actual results versus budget along with detailed analysis.

Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis as defined by the Operations Leader and Global Media Operations Controller.

Assist in the preparation of quarterly Corporate Quarterly Reporting Package as defined by the Global Media Operations Controller.

Assist in the preparation and gathering of data required during internal and external audits.

Coordinates all activities related to the annual establishment of product standard costs and establishing new product pricing.

Develop a good working relationship with the senior leadership team across multiple business functions.

Perform other duties as assigned by the site Operations Leader and Global Media Operations Controller.

Respond to all requests from senior management and work with Global Media Operations Controller of all such requests for prioritization and guidance.

Supervises local cost accounting functions as applicable.

Lead assigned team and develop people to assure Finance has the competencies, capabilities, and performance orientation to support and meet Pall’s business objectives.

Interacts with the appropriate Corporate Finance Service Center as necessary to facilitate the processing of A/P, A/R, and F/A related transactions.

Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting as well as the protection of company assets.

Identifies and communicates finance compliance issues to upward.

Assist, on occasion, with special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 7 years previous experience in general/cost accounting, with a proven track record as Controller or Assistant Controller, preferably in a Lean Enterprise environment utilizing the tools of lean management. MBA / CPA preferred.

Demonstrated experience utilizing standard and actual costing methodologies.

Proven experience in obtaining results, strong analytical skills, framing issues and structuring analyses leading to actionable steps and practices.

Experience working with cross functional teams communicating with geographically dispersed team members, stakeholders and managers.

Expertise in utilizing advanced Excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, presentations, databases and financial application software. Hyperion experience a plus.

Experience supervising/developing/leading a team to reach business objectives, accomplish goals, staff workload assignments, process improvement initiatives including Lean and Kaizen initiatives.
