Advertised Summary Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position manages the facilities operations of the School of Nursing and provides superior customer service to internal and external clients. Job responsibilities: Daily maintenance of the Georgian Building ? space management, work orders and telecommunications; Provide operational support to Operations staff aiming to exceed client (Faculty and Staff) expectations through smooth, timely and professional service; Set performance goals that are aligned with the SON strategic plan initiatives; Confirm purchase and work orders ? order, track and confirm receipt of materials and satisfactory service; Provide strong customer service to the School: actively work to troubleshoot issues related to maintenance and the delivery of operational services; Maintain database for supply inventory, run product reports and maintain records of required Operations activities as directed; Build & maintain strong relationships with CUMC Facilities, Housing, Telecommunications and outside vendors; Monitor fund allocation of postage machine; collect FedEx air bills for invoice reconciliation; Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Prior experience working in an academic institution, in an operations/Facilities setting. Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely fashion and be able to work independently. Strong communication skills, written and verbal, (discretion required). Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with all levels of faculty and staff are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge and experience with Columbia University applications preferred. Experience working with Nursing Education, Operations and/or Facilities.
