JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS COORDINATOR FOR CURRICULUM & ASSESSMENT

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Academics

JOB GOAL :
The OCCA supports all the logistical and compliance aspects of YES Prep’s system-wide curriculum and assessment program. Specifically, the OCCA will support the SDA in the areas of organization, communication, and record keeping. The OCCA’s responsibilities are significant, as they play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Curriculum and Assessment team meets 100% of its deadlines with high quality of all deliverables. Additionally, the OCCA will be responsible for all compliance aspects of the ELL program at YES Prep. The OCCA will support campus ELL coordinators in maintaining accurate records and meeting all deadlines established by TEA.

ILLUSTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
As system-wide support of ELL compliance:
Provide registrar and LEP coordinator with training on identifying and gathering documentation on LEP students

Check in with each campus registrar and LEP coordinator in order to ensure the student identification/documentation process is moving forward smoothly

Visit campuses as needed in order to gather information about the status of LEP student folders

Provide folder feedback and assistance to campus LEP coordinators and registrars where needed

Create sample system and training for campuses to use for writing sample collection and TELPAS rater training

Request updated LEP student rosters from all campuses at different times in the year

Attend campus LPAC meetings to discuss failing students, as needed

Follow up with campuses to ensure they meet TELPAS state deadlines. Provide help as needed

Collect end of year placement roster from each campus

Maintain appropriate PIEMS coding for LEP identified students

Communicate with Senior Literacy Specialists relevant information about LEP students to ensure appropriate interventions are provided

Coordinate with English team all aspects of TELPAS testing

Timely response to emails and phone calls

Additional duties as assigned

As system-wide support of curriculum and assessment logistics:

Coordinate with copy.com all aspects of the common assessment process

Support curriculum and assessment team in entering answer keys for system-wide assessments in Aware

Support SDA in communication to Instructional Leaders about common assessment logistics

Support campuses with common assessment scoring issues (i.e. late testing, missing scantrons, etc.)

Keep track of all deadlines related to the common assessment process (i.e. drafts due, accommodated and modified versions due dates, etc.)

Attend all meetings of curriculum and assessment team

Support content directors and SDA on various projects related to curriculum and assessment

Conduct data analysis of common assessments upon request

Timely response to emails and phone calls

Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution

Experience

Outstanding record of organization and communication skills

Experience with data tracking

Experience with project management

Experience planning and executing tasks with event planning

COMMITMENT AND COMPENSATION :
Length of Work Year: Year-round position; evening and weekend commitments also will be required
