This is an anticipated vacancy.
This position will be the director of the Facilities Unit for the Museum. The primary responsibilities include: assisting in the planning, construction, oversight, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications elements and equipment of the Museum’s facilities in town and off site. Promotes excellent service to customers, while ensuring the safety and security of all staff and visitors. Assists the facility manager in the daily operations for the museum including but not limited to: supervision of mail clerk to ensure all staff receive mail and packages promptly; copy rooms and supplies are stocked and errands for staff are completed; allocates space and telephones to staff. Oversees the receiving of freight and delivery, tracks purchase notifications process; develops tracking logs and databases for facilities operations. Analyzes and refines museum operations to efficiently and effectively deliver services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

(1) Working knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials used in general maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery. (2) Demonstrated skill in the use of tools required in at least two moderately complex trades (3) Ability to understand and work from sketched or penciled drawings. (4) Ability to operate the more common types of machine shop or woodworking power equipment. (5)Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of semiskilled and unskilled workers. (6) Must be able to lift 70 pounds to complete daily tasks.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Associate's degree in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Electrical License
