Leads EDPR NA’s Environmental Management System (EMS) as it relates to operations, construction, and sustainability. Creates and promotes a culture of environmental excellence and consummate compliance with standards and regulations.

• Leads the Environmental Management System (EMS) creation, implementation, and improvement for operating and under-construction sites
• Manages the company’s Environmental Construction Monitoring program
• Manages and provides training and guidance to EDPR NA staff regarding environmental issues for operating assets
• Supervises the work of environmental consultants
• Advises Operations managers regarding environmental permitting
• Assists operating sites with compliance with federal, state, and local permitting and regulatory environmental requirements
• Ensures that environmental records and documentation are properly maintained
• Develops, maintains, and improves on a waste management program that strives to minimize waste generation and waste management-related risks
• Ensures that permits are obtained, renewed, and closed as needed for operating sites
• Oversees thorough review of submittals to agencies and external parties for completeness and accuracy
• Ensures that environmental plans and programs are implemented and maintained as required by federal, state and local regulatory requirements
• Conducts annual compliance assessments of select operating wind farms
• Facilitates Sustainability Reporting program
• Attends agency meetings as needed, and leads strategy meetings in preparation
• Additional duties as required
Position Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of relevant experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated success in interpreting and communicating environmental compliance matters in diverse regulatory environments
Ability to quickly gain working knowledge of key and emerging issues in wind power permitting
Willingness and ability to travel as needed
