Plans, directs and coordinates setup activities and custodial needs consistent with facility wide standards for all sporting, entertainment, and other events as needed.
  • Directs and motivates personnel in a manner conducive to full job performance and high morale.
  • Meet with appropriate staff to outline work that must be done for the day/week.
  • Interviews vendor representatives and evaluates new products to stay informed on the effectiveness of new systems and operations.
  • Prepares work schedules and assures adequate coverage for department and specific events.
  • Develops and conducts in-service training programs promoting cross-training; demonstrates setup, products, and safety methods and procedures to department employees (i.e., forklift training, safety) with the Human Resources department.
  • Keeps records and other paperwork for the setup department
  • Manages the supervisory staff in the Arena and Exhibit Hall and the employees and part-time laborers as needed.
  • Coordinates inter-departmental efforts to meet client’s needs.
  • Ensures that all equipment is maintained correctly.
  • Coordinates all floor activities, working with Event Coordinator and all support departments.
  • Has knowledge of sense of timing as to what activities should be taking place within a time frame to accomplish necessary tasks to ensure a successful event.
  • Has knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in operations.
  • Has knowledge of the operation, use and care of equipment and supplies.
  • Has knowledge of Local, State and Federal laws and guidelines relating to safety in the workplace.
  • Evaluates work procedures and facility wide operations and plans and develops improvements in consultation with Director of Operations.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Facility Management or related field preferred.
    • 3-6 years of experience in arena operations or related.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills. Experience in MS Word & Excel.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Must be flexible with schedule (Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays) and work long hours when necessary.
