Job Summary:
Using discretion and judgment follows established procedures to monitor and operate multiple consoles in accordance with operating instructions in a fast paced 7x24 environment.

Principle Responsibilities :
Operates computers and peripheral equipment ensuring that they are functioning properly.
Processes all production cycles and manages schedules and all jobs within the schedules.
Executes and monitors all nightly system backups.
Ability to monitor and troubleshoot numerous system servers and applications.
Provides information and support to all clients and ensures all requests are processed in accordance with set policies and procedures.
Uses browser to find and retrieve information.
Reviews error messages and makes corrections during operation or refers and escalates problems.
May test run new or modified programs and assist in modifying systems or programs.
Diagnoses and corrects equipment malfunctions.
In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, applies standard operating or corrective procedure, including 620 messages and Remedy Problem Tickets.
Leverages technology to automate manual tasks, and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate.
Documents all shift activities into a turnover document and provides verbal turnover to the other shifts.
Complies with all internal and external rules, policies and procedures.

Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate or Bachelors degree desired.
Minimum work experience of two years' in System Management or Operations required with involvement in data communications and networking.
Knowledge of Tivoli Maestro and Netbackup /Veritas Applications products is required.
Working knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a plus.
Ability/willingness to work specific shift: 7:00am to 3:00pm Tuesday through Saturday.
