Operates hospital switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls. Triages emergency calls and routes them to appropriate personnel. Facilitates and coordinates communications within the hospital as well as between the hospital and the community.
Six months customer service experience. Receptionist/Operator/PBX console experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in the English language.
Works efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills which promote cooperation and teamwork.
Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize/prioritize related job tasks
Excellent public relations skills and demonstrated ability to communicate in calm, succinct, business-like manner.
Ability to identify alternative means of communication as needed.
Ability to deal with people in emergency and/or stressful situations.
Ability to adapt to change.
Net typing of 40 wpm and PC Based computer skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Familiarity with 10 key.
Familiarity with multi-line telephone system.
