Position Summary: Assists Optometrist by performing the following duties. Essential Duties: Obtains and records patient's preliminary case history.|
Prepares patient for vision examination.Assists in testing for near and far acuity, depth perception, macula integrity, color perception, and visual field.Instructs patient in care and use of glasses or contact lenses.Maintains inventory of materials and cleans instruments.Annual Contact Lens Supply Sales.Oversees the patient flow and keeps Dr on schedule.Job Requirements:
Education/Experience- High School diploma or equivalent; or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Math Ability- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software and Officemate/Examwriter. Strong customer service, sales and communication skills.Experience with OCT, Optomap, HRT and Visual Fields testing desired.Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.OfficeMate/Examwriter experience a plusKnowledge of Vision Insurance Plans and calculating Patient cost.
