RDC Operations Coach
The Operations Coach is accountable for supervising a high performing team responsible for handling product safely, efficiently and effectively as it moves through the facility. When monitoring production volume, the Operations Coach assigns Operations Team Members to tasks involving receiving, putaway, picking or shipping product (including appliances), or supporting tasks. The Coach must respond quickly to changing workflow conditions and contribute positively to the facility’s key performance indicators. This person must be able to mentor and build a culture of safety among Team Members to achieve a safe working environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ensure all Team Members comprehend and execute safe practices Monitor Team Member performance; ensure Team Members are executing assigned tasks accurately and as scheduled Monitor staffing needs for shift and adjust work to be accomplished on the shift according to available resources and skill sets Mentor and build relationships with Team Members; record planned encounters; complete annual review Conduct shift briefing, including safety topics, upcoming events and demand for the day Expedite receiving, picking and shipping of priority product (e.g., Special Order Express (S.O.E.) or Special Order Sales (S.O.S.)) Communicate effectively with Team Members regarding business objectives or current issues Set Team Members up for success; achieve or exceed key performance indicators, safety, performance and budget targets; record daily performance metrics Complete all incident reports of product damaged in-house; complete accident reports for Team Member injuries Record off standard hours for Team Members Promote safety in the work environment; complete safety observations
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Discuss and resolve issues with Team Members or issues between Team Members
Prepare Team Members for upward promotion if interested
Prepare shift turn over documentation
Direct resolution to equipment issues (for example, replace failed equipment or contact Maintenance)
Identify and assist in implementing process improvements
Respond to incidents or injuries with first aid (as trained)
Other Scope Measurements pertinent to the job (ex. project budgets, capital expenditures, accounts payable or receivable, relevant expenses, volume of purchases, sales, payroll, # employees influenced, etc.)
Performance Development Plan (PDP)
SUBORDINATES: Titles of subordinates and a brief description of the subordinate’s job function.
Operations Team Member
Receives, puts away, picks and ships product within a distribution center
Trains and qualifies Operations Team Members to perform necessary tasks in the facility
The position must supervise all types of individuals and personalities and maintain a professional attitude. The Operations Coach must constructively criticize Team Members underperforming and assist in mentoring as well as resolving Team Member disputes. Short term challenges may include becoming familiar with multiple reports and analyzing data so that the appropriate action is taken for changing workflow situations (e.g., prioritizing product, demand drops).
This person will receive guidance and supervision based on their experience. The Operations Coach is intended to function with minimal supervision from the Operations Manager. However, the Operations Coach is expected to reach out to the Manager when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications: Critical thinking, oral, written communication and computer skills
College degree or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with distribution center operations; previous warehouse experience Previous power equipment experience (e.g., forklift, reach truck, yard truck)
Experience with software applications such as Excel, Access or DMS Situational Leadership II
