7+ years working experience in data communication using parallel optics including transceivers, fibers and connectors. Must be familiar with fundamentals, technologies and trade-offs of optical engines (laser generation, modulators, detectors, Tx/Rx IC), optical fibers (MMF/SMF), opto-mechanical packaging, optical ferrules and connectors, optics characterization/testing, high-speed electrical and optical signal measurement/analysis instruments. A major plus in familiarity with E-O conversions of network protocol signals, datacom specifications, and quality assurance of optical components.
