We are looking for an Optical Engineer to contribute to an important project in our Sensory Pillar which requires deep knowledge of optics and lasers. The project may also involve camera and sensor technology for accurate location of objects. Combining these technologies we will create a new way of interacting with our mobile devices to expand capabilities and usability.

What You’ll Do (but not limited to):
  • Design innovative, premium solutions that solve real-world problems
  • Act as a as a contributing engineer and Optics expert on the product design team
  • Apply cutting edge technology to new product ideas and develop IP to support the project
  • Demonstrate understanding of team objectives and contribute necessary electric/design knowledge
  • Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes and how products are made
  • Prototype, test, conduct design optimization and perform design validation
  • Communicate clearly with outside suppliers to effectively produce established project deliverables

What You Need (but not limited to):
  • 6+ years as an Optical Engineer in a design role
  • Experience working with lasers, optics, and cameras for positioning and data capture
  • Experience in motor control and synchronization of signals and devices
  • Camera and imaging experience a plus
  • Knowledge of analog and digital hardware design
  • Wireless technology experience highly desired
  • Solid understanding of mixed signal electronic design, PCB layout techniques and guidelines, and detailed prototype validation
  • Experience with Simulation and Layout Tools (Cadence, OrCAD, PSpice, Altium, PADS)
  • Knowledge of designing to meet regulatory/agency requirements (FCC, CE, RoHS)
  • Consumer electronics design experience highly desired
  • Able to set ego aside, roll up your sleeves, and work side-by-side with a talented team in a highly collaborative environment
  • Willingness to adapt and embrace change
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Optical Engineering; MS highly desired
