Chevron Supply and Trading is accepting online applications for the position of Organizational Capability Advisor located in Houston, TX through May 17, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

This position reports to the HR Manager, Supply and Trading of Chevron Gas and Midstream located in Houston, Texas.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • The Organizational Capability Advisor oversees successful program development, implementation and management for Supply and Trading (S&T) Competency Programs for critical job families.

  • Development and Management of Global Functional Competency development business plan objectives in alignment with Strategic and Business plans.
  • Manages delivery of annual milestones and metrics.
  • Develop and manage Global Functional Competency development stakeholder engagement and communication plans.
  • Leverages and directs regional OC resources to achieve strategies.

  • Emerging Capabilities - identification of new competencies and prioritization, development of learning roadmaps including suggested work assignments. Establishes needed development programs.

  • Networking – Networks outside of CVX to stay abreast of trends and industry changes. Networks Cross-OPCO to share best practices and leverage programs. Coaches and shares knowledge internally, cross-OPCO, and externally.
  • Identifies outside learning opportunities and incorporates into programs.
  • Works with outside groups to design and implement targeted learning events.

  • Pathways - Oversees Pathways global development, implementation, tracking and continual improvements ensuring programs position S&T to meet Business Plan objectives. Administers Competency Analysis Tool to support ongoing development. The focus of Pathways is expanding individual competencies and strengths, highlighting areas for potential growth, and creating career development plans, activities and opportunities that ensure a highly capable workforce.
  • Ensures development of strategic and tactical objectives for the Pathways program to enable S&T to meet business plan objectives.
  • Manages the program structure, guidelines and support to meet strategic objectives.
  • Interfaces with PDCs to ensure processes are in place to meet Pathways’ Program objectives.
  • Engage with Leaders with the Business Units to ensure program success.
  • Delivers Pathways training program

  • Maintains Competencies - Alignment of S&T staff with competency gaps defined in strategic staffing plan. Identifies needed development programs. Ensures learning and development programs are in place for roles including functional/competency training and associated potential assignments. Evolves, maintains, and evergreens the functional competency models.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior or related field
  • 3-5 years of related experience in organizational capability or organizational effectiveness
  • Experience in creating or updating competency development plans and technical training
  • Strong planning and analytical skills.
  • Collaboration with and support of OC/HR team is critical to the success. Must be a team player, self motivated, self directed, proactive, flexible.
  • Must have strong creative/analytical thinking, systems thinking, strategic problem solving, and data analysis skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree/MBA in HR or related field preferred
  • Ability to travel (estimated 10%)

    Relocation Options:

    Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

    International Considerations:

    Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
